The area of Veli Lošinj is known for its curative climate for a long time now. For over a hundred years, the air, sea water and sun made Veli Lošinj the place for relaxation for the Habsburg archduke Karlo Stjepan. By building his castle and a botanical garden, he contributed to the recreational and health tourism development. Mild climate, crystal clear sea, green pines and the Mediterranean vegetation attract a large number of tourists, by offering them rest for their body and soul. The tavern 'Ribarska koliba' is located very close to the sea in the centre of the town of Veli Lošinj. Situated in a small harbour, it offers a possibility of berth.

Beautiful ambience, a large terrace from which you can enjoy the view over picturesque scenery near the sea. The restaurant is open since 1970, and to this day we do our best to keep the tradition of preparing sea and meat specialties.

Our fish specialties are prepared exclusively from fresh sea fish which we daily acquire from our local fishermen. We prepare lamb in several traditional ways, and offer spit-roasted pork daily.A vast number of fish specialties such as shellfish, scampi, lobster, common dentex, European sea bass…

Furthermore, we offer various pastas, risottos, fish soups, and home made cheese and prosciutto ham. From the vine offered at our restaurant we will name but a few: Teran, Merlot, Borgogna…
